That's what makes a battery trimmer infuriating. You start, get partway, and it dies. Now you're standing half-done in the bathroom with two options, both bad.
The display solves it with a number. You see the battery level before you start and know immediately whether it'll last — and the dock means the trimmer always sits charged in the same place, rather than in a drawer with the cable somewhere else.
It sounds like a detail. In practice it's the difference between a trimmer you trust and one you check twice.
The reason most men hesitate
It isn't the technique that stops people. It's the thought of what happens if your hand slips.
The groin has soft, mobile skin and uneven contours, and an ordinary beard trimmer is built for a face — flat surfaces, firm backing. That's why so many men either reach for a razor and get irritation, or skip it altogether.
TrimUp is built for that terrain instead. The blades are ceramic with rounded tips, which means there's no sharp corner to catch the skin as you draw the trimmer across an uneven surface.

Your first time
- Start with a longer guide than you think you want. You can always go shorter — not the other way round.
- Trim on dry skin the first time, so you can see what you're doing.
- Pull the skin taut with your free hand. Slack skin is the most common reason things go wrong.
- Use short, unhurried strokes against the direction of growth. Let the trimmer do the work without pressing.
- Rinse the blade and brush it clean afterwards. A few drops of oil now and then keeps it running smoothly.
Always use a length guide on the groin. Without one the blade sits directly against the skin, and that's where accidents happen.

TrimUp 1.0 or 2.0?
Same blades, same length guides, same trim. The difference is the display and the dock — 2.0 shows battery percentage and has a fixed place to stand. If you just want the trimmer and pack it in a wash bag, 1.0 is enough; if you'd rather never wonder whether it's charged, choose 2.0.
Worth knowing
The trimmer is water-resistant and the blade can be rinsed under the tap, but it isn't designed to be submerged or used in the shower. Dry it before putting it back in the dock.
Don't trim over wounds, rashes, moles or inflamed follicles. The manual supplied is in English.

Frequently asked questions
Can you cut yourself with it?
The blade tips are rounded, which is exactly what reduces the risk when skin is soft and uneven. Always use a length guide on the groin, pull the skin taut with your free hand and don't press — do that and the risk is small.
What's the difference from TrimUp 1.0?
The display and the dock. Blades, guides and trimming are the same. 2.0 shows battery percentage on screen and stands in its own charging dock — 1.0 charges by cable and packs more easily.
Which length guide should I start with?
The longest. You can always go shorter afterwards, but you can't go back. Most people settle on a shorter guide after a couple of goes, once they know how the result looks.
Can I use it in the shower?
No. It's water-resistant so the blade can be rinsed clean under the tap, but it isn't made to be submerged or used while you shower.
How quiet is it, really?
Considerably quieter than a standard hair clipper, with little vibration in the hand. It shows most in a bathroom with thin walls, or when someone else is asleep.
How do I look after the blade?
Brush away the hair after each use and rinse the blade under the tap. A few drops of the supplied oil every couple of weeks keeps it running smoothly. The blade is replaceable when it's worn.
TrimUp 2.0 is a trimmer for personal use. Do not use it over wounds, rashes, moles or inflamed skin. Do not submerge the unit in water. Read the instruction manual before use. Keep out of reach of children.
