When did you last wash your brushes?
Most people know the answer and don't say it out loud. It isn't laziness — it's that washing makeup brushes by hand is a twenty-minute job with soap, lukewarm water and scrubbing in your palm, and they still never get properly clean in the middle.
And then they need a day to dry. So you put it off until next weekend, and the one after.
Meanwhile something happens that you genuinely notice: foundation starts going on unevenly. Old product clumps the bristles together, the brush loses its shape, and you begin to think the foundation has gone off.
Ultrasound reaches where fingers can't
The problem with hand-washing is geometric. A brush head is densely packed with hundreds of bristles, and you reach the outer layer but not the core. That's where old makeup stays.
Ultrasound works differently. High-frequency vibrations in the water form microscopic bubbles that collapse against the surfaces they meet — a process called cavitation. The bubbles are small enough to travel between the bristles, right into the centre of the brush head.
At the same time the water rotates around the brush and flushes away what's been loosened. Those two things together are what you can't reproduce by hand.

Check your brushes first
The holders fit normal and slim handles. If you have brushes with unusually thick handles — some kabuki and large powder brushes — they won't fit into the holder.
They can still be cleaned: hold the brush in place by hand while the device runs. But the hands-free advantage disappears for those particular brushes, so it's worth knowing before you order.
How to use it
- Fill the container with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild cleanser or brush shampoo.
- Load the brushes into the holders with the heads down in the water.
- Start it and let the device work. Go and do something else meanwhile.
- Rinse the brushes in clean water afterwards.
- Reshape the head with your fingers and lay the brushes to dry flat, never upright.
Drying is where most people ruin their brushes. Stood upright, water runs down into the handle, dissolves the glue holding the bristles and the brush starts shedding. Lay them with the head over the edge of a counter.

Frequently asked questions
Will my brushes fit?
The holders are made for normal and slim handles. Unusually thick handles — as on some kabuki brushes — won't fit into the holder, but can be cleaned by holding the brush in place by hand while the device runs.
What does the ultrasound do?
High-frequency vibrations form microscopic bubbles in the water that collapse against the bristles and loosen product. The bubbles are small enough to reach into the dense centre of the brush head — where fingers never get during hand-washing.
What cleanser should I use?
A few drops of brush shampoo or a mild washing-up liquid in lukewarm water. Avoid harsh products and hot water — these dry out natural bristles and can dissolve the glue in the brush head.
How long do they take to dry?
A few hours for thin brushes, longer for dense foundation brushes. Always lay them flat with the head over the edge of a counter — stood upright, water runs into the handle and dissolves the glue.
Does it work on natural bristles?
Yes, and natural bristles particularly benefit from avoiding the scrubbing that splays them apart. Use lukewarm water and a mild cleanser, and reshape the head with your fingers before drying.
Are brushes included?
No, the brushes in the photos are there to show how the device is used. You receive the cleaner and the charging cable.
BrushPro cleans makeup brushes mechanically using ultrasound and water flow. It does not sterilise, and it doesn't replace replacing brushes once they're worn. Makeup brushes not included. Do not submerge the motor unit in water, and do not charge the device near water. Keep out of reach of children.
