Do the maths once
Clinic LED treatments are sold per session. You book, travel there, pay — and the bill starts over next time. What makes at-home treatment interesting isn't that it replaces the clinic; it's that it removes the marginal cost.
After you've bought it, each session costs nothing. You can run three times a week for two years without paying more, and you never have to weigh up whether this particular week is worth the money. That difference is what decides whether a routine actually sticks.
The seven light colours
Each colour corresponds to a wavelength, and they're used for different things in skincare. Here's what they're typically used for — and how well studied each one is, which varies considerably.

If you only run one setting, make it red. It's the starting point in virtually every at-home routine and the wavelength there's most knowledge about.
Twenty minutes where you do nothing
Skincare usually means standing at the mirror applying things in the right order. This doesn't. You strap on the mask, pick a programme and lie down.
That's also what decides whether it happens at all. A treatment you'll repeat three times a week does more than one you do twice and then forget — and repetition is exactly what light therapy depends on.

How to use it
- Cleanse and dry your face. The skin should be clean and free of products.
- Connect the mask, chin module and controller and plug in the adapter.
- Choose colour and time. Start at a lower intensity for the first few sessions.
- Keep your eyes closed throughout — 10 to 20 minutes.
- Wipe the inside with a lightly damp cloth afterwards.
Two to three sessions a week is the usual rhythm. Apply serum or moisturiser after the session rather than before.
Worth knowing before your first session
Keep your eyes closed throughout and don't look into the LEDs — the light is bright and sits close to the eyes. Use the protective goggles supplied if any are included.
Hold off if you've recently had a peel, laser treatment or injectable, or if you have wounds or active eczema on the face. If you take medication that makes skin light-sensitive — isotretinoin, certain antibiotics or St John's wort, for example — or have epilepsy, lupus or an eye condition, check with a doctor first.

Frequently asked questions
Which colour should I start with?
Red. It's the starting point in most at-home routines and the best-researched wavelength. Run it consistently for a couple of months before switching between programmes — that way you'll also know what any changes are down to.
How often should I use it?
Two to three sessions a week. Less often and it's hard to evaluate; more than daily serves no purpose. Consistency matters more than the length of each session.
When will I notice anything?
Skin changes slowly, so think in weeks rather than days. Take a photo in consistent lighting when you start — gradual change is nearly impossible to judge from memory.
Is it hot or uncomfortable?
No, the light shouldn't feel warm. It is bright, though, so keep your eyes closed throughout. If you get a headache or feel dizzy, stop and lower the intensity next time.
Can I wear serum or moisturiser during a session?
Use it on clean, dry skin and apply products afterwards. Acids and retinol also make skin more light-sensitive, so they belong after the session.
Can several people in a household share it?
Yes, wipe the inside between uses. Everyone should read the "worth knowing" section first — light sensitivity and medication differ from person to person.

Email kund@kvalio.se with your order number within 14 days of receiving your parcel, and we'll send you return instructions. You're welcome to open the packaging and examine the product just as you would in a shop. If it has been handled beyond that, we may deduct for any reduction in value.
You cover the cost of return shipping. As soon as the parcel reaches us, your money is back on the same payment method within 14 days. For hygiene reasons, products with a broken seal cannot be returned, and the same applies to special orders.
